Mario Herbert’s young Authors Workshop will equip children, aged 9 to 12, with the principles necessary to write a compelling short story or school composition. The workshop employs a unique teaching methodology, which deconstructs the writing of a story into its core elements. Participants will follow Mario, as he puts together a short story in five (5) sessions, while mirroring this de-constructive technique to put together their own short story in the same time frame. Participants’ work will be constantly evaluated every step of the way, and a prize will be presented to the person with the best short story, after the workshop concludes.

The five-session process is designed to produce a story at a publishable standard, with an added sixth session teaching techniques to easily align this process with typical school writing requirements.
